On Sunday afternoon, the 10th of June 2018, Eleven-Games was attacked by so far unknown, foreign hackers. Attempts were made to upload malicious code and files to our platform. Due to already good protective measures both from us and from 1&1, this attempt was not successful and worse could be prevented. Corresponding user accounts have already been blocked.
Nevertheless, yesterday a security patch was installed, followed by a major update today, which also affects you users. In the following we will list the changes that affect you.
Uploading files is now restricted. Only file archives of type 7z, RAR and ZIP are allowed. Additionally, the files you uploaded must now contain your username. The system checks case insensitive. If files do not comply with these rules, the complete upload will be rejected.
In addition, only users who have been registered at Eleven-Games for at least 7 days and have wrote 10 forum posts are allowed to upload a file.
We ask for your understanding for these changes and hope that this does not restrict you too much. If you have any concerns, you can leave a comment below or contact the team members.
